Pack Family Camp
From: The Cubmaster of Pack 13 To: All I thought the group would like to hear how Pack 13's Summer Family Outing went. The Cub Scouts, with their parents & siblings (85 total campers) began arriving at 10:00a.m. and set up camp. Mr. Z & the Troop Hodag must have been visiting the nearby Ottawa Scout Museum because we started the day with rain & it drizzled on & off all day Saturday. After camp was setup we had lunch (mystery meat, potato chips, bug juice, and fruit) at 12:00p.m. After lunch there were glider planes, fishing, whiffle ball, & nerf football activities. At 4:00pm there was a dutch oven cooking demo for the parents. They saw 2 Camp Mach Pizza's being prepared along with 3 Cobblers for desert. Dinner (hamburgers & hotdogs along with homemade potato chips) was served at 5:30pm. After dinner we had family "free time". The campfire was started at 8:00pm & we retired an American flag. Smores and marshmallows were heated up over the campfire & flashlight tag was the favorite game. Lights out was 10:00pm although several adults were still sitting around the campfire at midnight. At 7 a.m. Sunday morning several Scouts & their parents went fishing on the shore by our campsite. One of our new leaders prepared homemade donuts. A new treat at family camp! After breakfast it was time to clean up and everyone was gone by noon. Photos of our current and past campouts are online. |
